Would You Hire Zillow to Buy or Sell Your Home?

As a consumer we are inundated with options to simplify the transaction process in a sale — buying and selling homes are no different. Company’s like For Sale By Owner, ZipRealty and Homes.com for decades now have been creating an online user friendly platform allowing homeowners to take control of their home sale, leaving real estate agents to adopt new practices. Zillow plans to roll out the process of buying and selling houses through an expansion of their Instant Offers in Phoenix AZ, where Zillow Group, Inc. will now have the opportunity along with other pre-qualified investors to purchase those homes. The Benefits of Childhood Chores — Real Parents Weigh In

Keeping a property tidy is hard enough, let alone when you have one or more children living with you. (Maybe that’s why I stick to fur babies!) Picking up spills, clothes and toys becomes a never-ending chore, that’s found to be an irresponsible practice when paired with shielding children from chores. Do you believe kids should do chores? Or should they just be kids? One of my favorite chores to do as a kid was dusting and vacuuming the house. My Mom always believed in giving us weekly chores to help not only, teach us responsibility, but show us how to care for “the items” we own. I recently posted this video on my Facebook Page by Parenting Today, which shows the chore debate. The video also highlighted a 2014 Braun Research survey that found while 82-percent of Americans report have regular chores growing up, only 28-percent of parents today […]

Over the weekend Sal and I sat down to prioritize which projects to research, plan, and actually complete. I highly recommend sitting down and creating a home to-do list of your own and if you don’t know where to start grab our new home planner, which highlights common seasonal projects and gives you a place to store all your home ideas. Let me just say, it feels amazing to have a plan so I can turn off the mental […]

Daylight Saving Time: 6 Home Projects to Embrace the Spring Season

As I watch the snow melt on the ground in my backyard, I can’t help but feel excited to hear we’re springing ahead this weekend– which means spring time is quickly approaching. At 2 a.m. on Sunday, daylight saving time begins setting the clocks forward by one hour, throughout much of the United States. While mornings will stay darker longer for a while, we’ll start enjoying more daylight in the evenings. (Yippie!) Besides setting your clocks forward by an hour, now is the perfect time to wash away old man winter and refresh your home both inside and out. It’s a transitional season of new beginnings. Spring symbolizes the start of new projects, sewing new seeds and coming forth with new ideas. Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken and the earth comes to life again after the thaw. I don’t know about you, but when I see the trees finally bloom […]
