Home staging is a necessity in the real estate market and it’s imperative that you detach yourself from your home and its belongings. It is no longer your beloved home; it’s a product that must be marketed and merchandized properly. Check out these stats, if you don’t believe yet: Home staging is less expensive than a price reduction. According to a National Association of Realtors survey, homes that sold after four weeks on the market sold for 6 percent less than ones that sold within the first four weeks. So on a $500,000 home, that is a price reduction of $30,000. Home staging costs anywhere between 1 percent and 3 percent of the sales price depending on how much work is needed. That means on a $500,000 home, staging can cost anywhere from $5,000-$15,000. Which would you prefer to spend?
