When I say the word pumpkin, many immediately think of the perfect orange sphere, but in recent years white pumpkins have become more popular in the United States &#8212; which produces more than 1.5 million pounds of pumpkins each season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>How to Pick a Pumpkin<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When looking for the best jack-o\u2019-lantern, choose one that will decompose the slowest.\u00a0Stay away from soft spots and dry, thin stems. Always pick one that feels heavy for its size because that\u2019s means it&#8217;ll be better for cooking with the more flesh it has. Also choose one with a sturdy base that won&#8217;t flop over while on display.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>DIY Pumpkin Flower Centerpiece<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhomestagingtips%2Fvideos%2F2044155779145662%2F&amp;width=500&amp;show_text=true&amp;height=609&amp;appId\" width=\"500\" height=\"609\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What you&#8217;ll<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A pumpkin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Glass cylinder vase<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pumpkin carving tool set<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seasonal flowers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Step 1: Trace out the cylinder vase with a small knife or poker to make small holes around the cylinder.
