As a home stager, I consistently turn to mother nature to bring our stagings to life with\u00a0this\u00a0natural, fresh-looking home accessory.<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4907\" src=\"http:\/\/toritoth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/4-RULES-26.png\" alt=\"flower arrangement\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> If you\u2019ve always wondered how to arrange flowers\u00a0but not sure\u00a0where to begin, don\u2019t worry \u2014 these tips can help. The first decision you&#8217;ll have to make is whether or not your want real or fake florals in your home. There are positives and negatives to both. Fresh flowers are always beautiful and fragrant, but tend to die quickly especially if not taken care of properly. While fake florals, often look just that FAKE. Not to mention they become dust collectors, if forgotten. Check out this Facebook Live to see how to work with both real or fake flowers and how to combat these problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhomestagingtips%2Fvideos%2F1931189243775650%2F&amp;show_text=1&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"684\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To keep fresh cut <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><a style=\"color: #008080;\" href=\"http:\/\/toritoth.com\/pantone-colors-pairing-spring-flowers\/\">flower arrangements<\/a><\/span>\u00a0longer try these tips:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Add lukewarm water in the vase<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Snip the ends of the stems before placing them in water\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use a flower preservative that comes with most bouquets<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Try this mix (12-24oz) vase, add\u00a02 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons sugar with the vase water before adding flowers<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"_AXc\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Change the water and continue to trim the stems regularly\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"_AXc\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Remove leaves that are submerged in the water and any wilted flowers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reminders when working with fake florals:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Look for realistic stems (<span style=\"color: #008080;\"><a style=\"color: #008080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pier1.com\/stems_sprays#nav=top\">Pier1Imports<\/a><\/span> hand-paint their floral highlights)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bend or cut stems to size with wire cutters\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use a compressed gas duster to remove dust on the petals<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But how do you actual create an interesting arrangement? Here are a few tips to remember when building your own flower arrangement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The Vessel<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Choose a vase or container that not only matches your style, but will fit the area where you want the arrangement displayed \u00a0as well as the size of the arrangement you&#8217;d like to create. The vessel should be in proportion to the stems being used. Stems should be no longer than 1 1\/2 times the height of the vase.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Bold Blooms<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rather than choosing one of each different flower stem, go for a bold impact by using a lot of stems from one or two of your favorite flowers. The more stems used the fuller the arrangement will look. A hydrangea has a bigger bloom, than let&#8217;s say a tulip &#8212; so consider the shape and size of the bloom when choosing how many stems you&#8217;ll need.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Statement Color \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While you can mix n&#8217; match different floral colors, my favorite is using a monochromatic color scheme where you choose one color hue, then use different flowers in the same tone. This creates a luxurious statement that adds depth and personality to the arrangement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Flower Arranging<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Arrange the base shape of the flower arrangement by adding the largest, focal point blooms first into the vase. Spread them out so they&#8217;re not all clumped together. Fill in the gaps with smaller blooms, then add something dramatic with height like branches or draping vines. It&#8217;s important to use varying heights in the arrangement to create an elaborate, professional look.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Comment below and let me know if you use real or fake flowers in your home?
