After recently pulling out my warmer weather clothes, I stumbled upon some sweaters that had seen better days. Rather than tossing them into the donation pill or the trash I decided to repurpose my old sweaters and incorporate them into our home decor this winter season.
These easy ideas will give your space a warm and cozy feel during the cold-weather months. There are so many ways to incorporate a sweater into your home decor here are 5 ways you can add the effects of a sweater in your home:
Sweater Home Decor Tip # 1: On the Floor
Try adding this texture pattern to your rugs. FLOR Carpet Tiles have soft, irregular braid patterning in complex yarns for a familiar and comfortable look that works for any space. In not only feel great under your feet, but this product is easy to maintain. Check out what a sweater material looks like on your floor.
Sweater Home Decor Tip # 2: Pillows & Throws
This time of year you should change out your home decor and add items that entice you to curl up and read a good book or snuggle with a loved one. You can simply add sweater material in your throw pillows and blankets in a living room or bedroom. Here are some of my favorites I found out in stores now. Click here or on image below to shop now.
Sweater Home Decor Tip # 3-5: DIY Home Decor (Vase, Candleholder and Lamp Shade)
While the first two sweater home decor tips involve spending some money to create this look, I promised a little DIY Project, so here it is. Check out how I used just one neutral colored sweater to create three different DIY home decor projects. Here is what you’ll need:
- An old sweater
- Glass Vase
- Glass Candleholder
- Lampshade (Preferably a Drum Shade)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Twine or Rope
- Pinecones
