Did you know the way your home feels can have a huge impact on the way you feel? If it’s cluttered you feel disorganized. If it’s not decorated it’s less like to feel at home. And, if it’s not sexy, it may be affecting your actual sex life.
No matter how long you may live in your house it can start to feel stale. You might find yourself daydreaming about a newer, more beautiful home. But, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
We should all love the place we call home because it’s a little piece of the world we can call our own. You create the rules inside this space and my #1 rule is to make sure my place feels warm, welcoming and relaxing– so every time I walk through the front door I love to be home.
This Valentine’s Day, I shared my tips on how to fall in love with your home on Real Estate Today’s Radio Show during their special Valentine’s Day episode. Click here or below to listen.
Fall In Love With Your Home
Deep Clean. Take some time to show your home some love, by cleaning or deep cleaning each room. Keeping things clean and organized is good for you mentally and spiritually. From worrying about unfinished tasks and projects to concerns about a healthy environment for the family, messy homes lead to messy relationships. Plus, you feel not only accomplished but comfortable once your home is clean.
Embrace Nature. Whether you receive flowers this Valentine’s Day or buy them yourself having natural elements in your home, like a bouquet of flowers on a dining table, nightstand or kitchen counter, will make all the difference. Flowers can give off sensual aromatic scents, while the sight of these colorful petals entices natural beauty. If the weather permits, plant some colorful flowers throughout your front yard to enjoy these beauties all season long.
Soft Fabrics. When it comes to making your home feel sexy, it’s all about the touch. For the bedroom, look for high-quality bedding. Seating areas should have ample soft throw pillows and blankets that make you want to cuddle up with that special someone, too!
Perfect Smell. Allow all the senses to fall in love with your home. Start by finding a scent you love in a plugin, candle or heat up essential oils. Some of my favorite scents this time of year are from Pier 1 Imports, Honeysuckle and Citrus Cilantro are two refreshing scents that remind me of springtime.
