Our New York City based home staging company, Stylish Stagers, Inc. recently had the opportunity staging a vacant home in Tudor City Historic District. This distinguished, 10-story, cooperative apartment building was built in 1927 just steps away from the United Nations.
When staging a vacant home, you want to setup a layout that appeals to the highest number of potential buyers. The home will be staged with furniture, decorations, paintings, and other home décor to complete the look. One of the most important benefits to staging a home is the ability to allow a buyer to envision themselves in the home. By creating a warm, welcoming feel you’ll help make a potential buyer feel more comfortable in an empty home. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this before and after photo, which one would you prefer? Which one creates an emotional connection?
A room before staging, looks dark, small and uninviting.
After staging this room, you can tell it’s purpose and looks brighter and more appealing.
Only 10-percent of home buyers can visualize the potential of a home, that’s why it’s so important to show buyers how they can set-up furniture and live in the space. Since most home buyers start their home search online, a staged home will look better in photos compared to an empty space, just look at the transformation of this 2-bed, 2-bath co-op on the market for $895,000.

Added a living and dining area to show buyers where they can entertain.
We used neutral colors, lots of textures, patterns and mixed metals to create a cohesive, luxurious look that is worthy of the price tag. This freshly painted space, had lots of details buyers would be interested in having in a home. Hardwood floors, crown molding, pocket doors and recessed lighting. This is a fairly big size kitchen for a New York City co-op with lots of upgrades! We all know kitchens and baths are what helps sell a home, so we just added a few accessories in this room to dress up the space.

It’s also important to add personality to the master suite. This room had buyers scratching their head asking where would they place their bed and if a queen size bed would even fit inside this space.
Master bedroom lacks imagination and a place to relax and recharge.
The master bedroom staged.
As you can see, a queen size bed fits comfortably in this room. What do you think about this transformation? Let me know in the comment section below, I’d love to hear from you.
